Several months ago I upgraded my PageGate to version 4.0.0.96. Since then I have seen a flood of messages in my logs related to the GetMail service. The service shows to be running. However, every few seconds I see a log entry stating "Asking PGMailServer service to start". My system seems to be working fine otherwise.

Windows Server 2003. I've requested an upgrade to v5 but am waiting on the Purchase Order to be submitted after Oct. 1.

Honestly, I'd recommend just waiting for the version 5 upgrade. It should take care of that problem and it's not like you're not going to be upgrading anyways.

I have now installed the newest version of PageGate v5.0.6 onto a new server. I no longer receive logs with errors for the GetMail server. However, my application event logs on the server log several errors for the PGMailServer. The errrors state 'handle is invalid' and 'Access violation at address 004BE2C7 in module 'pgmailserver.exe'. Read of address 00000000.' I have PageGate running as the system service account.

All of my messaging seems to be working except to SMTP clients. All of the SMTP messages fail without connecting to the carrier. I ran a Port scan from the server and Port 25 is available, but not checked. I ran netstat from the server and it showed that pgmailserver.exe was listening on that port.

I tried to Relay all Mail to my Exchange server and it does not seem to be making a connection either. I also tried to setup a recipient to forward messages to their email account and that does not go through either.

I am still having issues with this module. Currently I am running PageGate v 5.0.9 on a Windows 2003 R2 server.
