Hi,

I am currently trying a trial version of NotePager Pro to send text messages to a Bell Mobility cell phone. The intent is to eventually get Solarwinds Orion to utilize the send SMS alert and I believe it requires NotePager.

Upon trying the NotePager software, I am having issues to even get one text message out.

The analog modem currently connected is a 3Com Courier 56K Modem, 3CP3453.

The phone line it is connected to is currently provided by AllStream.

The cell phone I am trying to send a message to is provided by Bell Mobility

It says there is no dial tone however, there is one.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I hate to point out the obvious but the answer is right there in your dialer log:

4/28/2008 1:23:57 PM Received:<CR><LF>NO DIAL TONE<CR><LF>

That means that the modem isn't getting a dial tone when it tries to pick up the phone line.

Make sure your phone cord is not plugged into the PHONE jack on the modem. Only use the one marked LINE, WALL, TELCO or not having an icon resembing a phone next to it. The phone jack is disconnected when the modem goes off hook to prevent a downstream device from disrupting the connection.
