send SMS job .contractors must reply yes or not to accept it

planning to send a single SMS job enquiry to multiple independent contrators recipients offering a last minute job offer, and allow them to reply yes or no if they want to accept it or not. First contractor replies, will get this particular job.

Depends on how the SMS is implemented by the carrier. In my case the recipients cannot reply, as the carrier sends out 1111111 as who the message came from, and that is not a valid place to reply to.

I can include a 10-digit voice number and the user can return a voice call to that number by pressing SEND twice, but I haven't found a way to have them confirm a text message (with my carrier) yet, and if I did, they would all be charged 15 cents for the outgoing message unless I put them under an SMS contract (incoming is free).

You need the services of a messaging aggregator - look at www.usshortcodes.com - this is the organization that manages the system that allows for polling
