Verizon connection options?

As I understand it, the only way to use internet connectivity to send Verizon messages, is to send them as emails (SMTP).

We currently use dial up TAP protocol to send messages, but I would love to be able to connect over the internet, but use an option other than email.

As I understand it, SNPP only works for verizon pagers, and not for txt messages to cell phones.

Any ideas?

Unfortunately Verizon hasn't come out with an SNPP or WCTP interface for their phones yet. Hopefully they will some day...
