|
|
Just upgraded to v5 from v4, upgrade went very smoothly, excellent step-by-step on the website here!
So I decided to install the client on our workstations. (previously the PG server just interfaced with our dispatching system)
The problem is that all the recipients arent showing up on the clients. Ive gone through every user and checked "GUI Client", stopped and restarted the server, stopped and restarted the clients, but when I close and reopen PGAdmin, all the recipients I checked "GUI Client" on, are unchecked again.
Appreciate the help!

It could be one of a few things. The first thing to check is to open the PageGate Admin and go to the Registration section. Make sure that the version 5 registration is there and that Client is checked in the list in the upper right hand corner.
If it is, try this:
1) Go to Interfaces - GUI Client - Settings.
2) Uncheck Enabled and click on Apply.
3) When it asks if you want to disable this interface for all existing groups and recipients, tell it yes.
4) Put a check back in Enabled and click on Apply.
5) When it asks if you want to enable this interface for all existing groups and recipients, tell it yes.
That should reset all of the database flags for your recipients and the next time you open the GUI Client, everyone should be in the list.

It is version 5, but client is NOT checked.
Guess this is a licensing issue?

Definitely sounds like a licensing issue. If you would, email sales at notepage dot com and reference this forum thread, they should be able to help you.

I've had one other thing that could cause this besides the potential licensing issue mentioned above, and that is resolved by going to the "View" menu entry at the top of the client and click on "Network Recipients" rather than "Local Recipients".
For some reason I have this happen on occasion, even though the users smile innocently and swear they never went up there and messed with it....
Local Recipients is useful in an organization like mine that is made up of the main location and several satellite locations. I have all the recipients entered as one big group, but it is possible for the remote locations to limit the view to just the folks that are at their site. Problem is they go and do that, and then need to page someone from one of the other sites and can't remember how to change the list back....

Yeah Ive tried both local and network, and they both show the same list, Im certain its a licensing issue.
Ill talk to the boss and see if he wants to spend the money on that license for GUI Client.

Upgrade PageGate's GUI Client Interface for $200.00 by calling NotePage Sales at 781-829-0500, or online at http://www.notepage.net/upgrades.htm
The 4-5 digit Serial Number, in the PageGate Admin's Registration section, is needed for upgrading.
