Is there a limit of how many pagers can be put into a group. We are considering broadcast messaging. Will this work. Or, is there an easier way to setup an ALL PAGER broadcast message.

Thanks,

Debbie W

No, the program doesn't limit the number of recipients a group can contain.

Keep in mind when you try "broadcast" messaging: the more connectors (formerly known as dialers) you have - the faster your message throughput will be. PageGate can drive up to 16 simultaneous connections (base package includes 1 - additional connectors are available for purchase). Additionally, your upper limit of recipients is driven by your license key. The largest databases have 30K recipients

Perhaps adding a leader or group cap code to the devices would be quicker? Especially if this is a code blue or other emergent medical situation.

Yes - Group CapCodes are definately the way to go - as long as ALL devices are from the same carrier. One of the advantaces of PageGate is that devices from multiple carriers can easily be added to a group. EXAMPLE: your group members carry a variety of devices such as AlphaNumeric pagers from USAMobility, Cell phones from AT&T or Verizon, and RIM BlackBerries. THere is no way to issue a common capcode across all devices
