I am in the process of installing a new server on my network. Currently, all of my users are still connected to my old server. I am installing the PG server onto the new server with a copy of the database locally and the settings to point to that new server for testing. I want to make sure that everything works from the new server before I switch over my clients.

Is there a problem with running the paging server on two separate machines on the same network that do not share a database?

If only transferring from the old server to the new server, use the existing registered PageGate.

Is the PageGate version 5 being used? When using multiple registered PageGate version 5s, the Synchronization feature is used to synchronize a master PageGate database with one or more slave PageGate databases.
