We have a remote, unmanned, unconnected site that would benefit from adding NotePager Pro to send out TAP pages through its existing modem. But, we need to be able to dial into the machine for maintenance and data collection. I hoped I could leave the Incoming Connection active and it would share with NotePager, but from what I've read, it won't.
I've looked at adding a port sharing driver (I found Eltima and Fabula). Do you know of any successes doing this, or something that achieves this end?
Or maybe a way to disable the Incoming Connection (if not in use) when a page needs to go out... (If it is in use, I don't care that the page wouldn't go out.)
Adding a second modem to share the phone line is hard because I have to go there. Just adding/changing with software would be good unless the machine ends up in a state where I can't connect to it.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
mark

Hmm... well, there isn't an automatic way to do it within the program itself but there may be a way to do it in the Operating system, I'm not sure?

The trouble you'll run into is that if anything is listening to the COM port the modem is on, PageGate can't use the modem.

Thanks - I suspected this was the case, but I hoped. If I could test a work-around at my desk, I would, but a loss of connectivity could turn a nuisance into an emergency. The most assured solution is to install a second modem and share the phone line. The physical world trumps the digital world again!
