Rookie, need basic help.

I am trying to test NPPro using my cell phone, not having any success. I have a wireless connection to my cable modem and use Cox as my internet provider.

Is smtp my best option? The Connection Wizard tells me that smtp failed.

NotePager Pro software supports the internet protocols: SNPP, WCTP, SMTP to send messages via your cable modem. Whether NotePager Pro is setup with SMTP, WCTP, or SNPP will also depend on what your cell phone carrier supports. Protocol settings at http://www.notepage.net/support.htm

If a protocol failed then a firewall, or port may need to be unblocked for NotePager Pro to send messages using that protocol.
