This has happened twice in the past week so I thought I would ask if anyone may know the cause.

We are running Pagegate Version 5 on windows Server 2003. Messages are received through GetMail and then sent to the proper recipient based on the e-mail address the message was sent to. The POP3 account is checked every minute. It seems like when the POP3 account has 2 messages at the same time, the Pagegate Software keeps looping the messages .... I had 78 people get the same message 15 times today before I could terminate the pagegate program .... after I restarted and after a reboot it started looping again. I had to terminate through task manager and then reboot the server.

Has anyone else seen this ? Thanks for any advice.

Jason - double check your groups - it sounds like you have a group or groups that are members of each other. THis will cause the loop. for a clue - look at the ADMIN log - it will show you which groups were most recently modified

Aaron, I did check that initially just to make sure ...I have not made changes to any group for over a month ...and this particular group gets messages each and every day ..... It only looped on 1 message ...once I rebooted it hasn't happened again.

Also - If the GetMail pulls more than 1 message from the POP3 Account ...it will only send the first message. It seems to ignore the other messages .... Is there any way tp prevent this from happening ?

Okay - This has happened again at least three times, each with a different group. I have narrowed it down to the GetMail Module. I notice that the Getmail Module keeps taking the message off of the mail server every time it checks and sends it out as a new message. Is this a Getmail Glitch or a problem with the mailserver ?

We have sent 278 messages to over 9000 recipients over the past 2 weeks and this has only happened three times .... but you can imagine the pain when it keeps sending 16 times to 78 people ...embarrassing to say the least ..... Any Ideas ?

Pagegate Flaw or Mailserver problem ?

If you would, please email me the pagegate.mdb to support at notepage dot com. I'd like to have a look at a few things and see if I can't track down specifically why this is happening.

If you zip the file, it should greatly compress the file size.

I have the same problem.
I made it stop by making the mail server remove the messages after they are read, but it makes it hard to tell if you ever received a message if a customer calls.

We also wanted to keep the messages on the server so that we wouldn't miss any customer issues. I have changed this to remove from the server until we can get some solution .... I have sent the database to Support and I hope to hear something soon.

I sent the file to Support 2 weeks ago, but haven't heard back yet. Have others gotten pretty good support ?

Thanks in advance

We are still working on this problem. Will hopefully have some answer this week. For the short term, please leave PageGate set to remove messages off the server.

Thanks

The latest build (PageGate v5.0.6.0) should resolve the problem.

1) On your existing installation of PageGate, browse to your database directory and make a backup copy of the pagegate.mdb file (to disk, to CD, to your desktop, whichever way will be easiest for retrieval later).

2) Once you have a copy of the pagegate.mdb file, uninstall version 5 of PageGate. When you're prompted, select the complete uninstallation option.

3) Download the latest PageGate installation file from our website (http://www.notepage.net - Click on the download button under the PageGate section and save the pgsetup.exe file to your desktop).

4) Run the pgsetup.exe file you've just downloaded.

5) When it asks which installation you wish to run, select the PageGate Server option.

6) Unless you need to change the installation directory, you can really just click next through the entire routine until it finishes.

7) Now that we have the updated build installed, go to your start menu and run the PageGate Admin.

8) Click on Apply when it prompts you for the options and modules unless you need to specify a different location for the database, logging, or archive directories. If you need to specify different
directories, do so, then click on Apply.

9) You should get a message saying that a new database has been created and PageGate must be restarted. Before you start the Admin again, take that copy of the pagegate.mdb file we made and put it in
the new Pagegate directory.

10) It will ask you if you want to overwrite the file, say yes.

11) Run the PageGate Admin again.

12) It should notify you that the database needs to be converted and that PageGate needs to be restarted. After it does this, run the PageGate Admin again.

13) Go to the Registration section and verify that your version 5 registration information is still there.

I uninstalled my old version and installed the new version (I believe 5.0.6). Everything worked fine - except .......

ALL Messages only come out in lowercase .....It will not send anything in uppercase. I have reverted back to the old version until you can give me some guidance. I could not find any settings that control this. I also did not make any changes to the settings between the two versions.

please advise what to do now ?
