I am not successful setting up my AT&T PDA phone with NotePager Pro. I have tried SMTP with <10digitnumber>@txt.att.net without success.
I spent about 45 minutes - 1 hour in the AT&T store today trying to get text messaging on my phone. AT&T did not subscribe me to Enterprise Paging, but added unlimited text messaging to my account.
Our anesthesiology group is considering using text messaging instead of pagers. We have 20 MD's in the group. It is important to have a rapid message input to delivery time.
Here is the connection monitor and dialer log from NotePager Pro V3.0:

You can subscribe yourself to Enterprise messaging:
Go to www.enterprisepaging.com and follow the steps.
Once this is done, set up a new carrier in your NPP
Select SNPP for the protocol
Add phone as a recipient, using only the 10 digit cell number for ID_________________ Aaron D. Osgood

I called AT&T to set up Enterprise Paging. It is for Business Clients only. You have to be a corporation with at least 100 "lines" and have an IT department.
It cannot be set up at an AT&T store.
So - at this point, NotePager Pro is not a solution for us. I will try a Google or Hotmail account dedicated to the group and use the numbers for email-SMS, <10digit#>@txt.att.net and whatever other carriers addresses there are.
Thanks for trying.

I will try AT&T next week when I can get someone who is a regular Business Division service person. Today (Saturday) I got someone who did not know what it was and had to go look up Enterprise Paging.
Maybe the regulars will know something different.

If you're going to SELF-PROVISION, do it DURING THE WEEK, NOT ON THE WEEKEND.

Aaron: I have tried twice today to set this up. Both times I have been told by AT&T that it cannot be done by an individual who is not a "member" of a corporation that has a site license for Enterprise Paging from AT&T.
If you know of another way to do this without qualifying as a corporate licensee, please let me know.

My apologies
I went to the enterprisepaging.com site after reading your reply and was surprised to see that they have apparently instituted significant changes. As recently as 2 weeks ago, I was able to go to that site and self provision an ATT cell phone 100% online - no human interaction needed._________________ Aaron D. Osgood
