|
|
Hi,
I hope this is not a repeat. I have been trying to get TAP to work with PagePlus today and can't seem to figure this out. I have tried TAP to my AT&T Blackberry and get the same "Unable to connect to carrier" message. Can someone tell me what I am missing or doing wrong from the modem log below? Thank you in advance for any guidance.

What do you have the baud rate, data bits, parity, and stop bits set to?

I am an idiot. I forgot the 1 prefix. I am a little further along now, but still getting errors. See below. It is a bad id/pin now. I am using the 10 digits pager number and also some number that is on a sticker with no luck. My settings for this carrier is: even, 7, n, 1.

You mentioned you are connecting to ATT. If you mean ATT Wireless (cellular) - has the device been subscribed to the Enterprise Paging platform run by ATT to allow TAP protocol use? If not, it will not work. You can provision the device by going to www.enterprisepaging.com
Your log indicates that NPP is correctly connecting but the carrier is rejecting the message

11/9/2007 11:54:44 AM The recipient's ID/PIN number was rejected_________________ Aaron D. Osgood

You may want to contact PagePlus to verify this but in the log, I noticed you're passing a 7 digit ID/PIN. Most Paging terminals require the 10 digit pager number of the device you want to contact.
