Dear Tech Support,

I'm from Singapore and would like to explore the possibility of using NotePage Pro for my event logging/reporting project.

I'm using an Aztech's 56K external modem EM3900 (based on Conexant chipset, the data pump is CX88168). My message center is Singtel and the number is 64777915 (add +65 if call from overseas)

I've tried several init strings with no success. I always get <CR><LF>NO CARRIER<CR><LF> from the log monitor. It appears to me that my modem can't talk to the message center. These are the strings that I had tried.

AT&FQ0V1X4&D2
AT&FQ0V1X4&D2+MS=V22,0
AT&FQ0V1X4&D2+MS=B103,0

The setting of notepage is 1200,E,7,1 and TAP protocol.

To my knowledge, Singtel message center is based on ETSI ES 201 912 protocol 1 and ETSI EN 300 659-2 specifications. I do not know how could this related to notepage setting.

I also tried using an embedded modem from Multitech. Its part no is MT5656-SMI-V-92. This is a V.92 modem also based on Conexant chipset. I faced the same problem as above.

Do you have any suggestion for my problem?

Thanks

Are you certain that Singtel supports TAP? If not - try the MultiTech using the GSM protocol

This is one thing I'm still waiting reply from Singtel.

One thing interesting is that a fixed-line SMS modem called Z-text which claimed it do support my message center. The link is here:

I do not know what chipset it is using.

The multitech modem I'm having is a fixed-line modem. Can it accept GSM protocol ?

Thanks
