|
|
Our new terminal servers are Windows 2003 Standard servers. I've tried to launch the PGINSTALL (version 4.0) from both add/remove programs and by executing change user /install and after I select Install PageGate GUI Client, the pginstall program closes and nothing happens. When I check the Task Manager, there are no processes out there for PG installation.
What am I missing?

Permissions? Virus Scanners? Security rights?
LAso - are you installing from a PGV4 Cd or a recent download? (The downloadable one is v5 - NOT compatible with V4 database)_________________ Aaron D. Osgood

Admin has full permissions to the install directory, we haven't installed the av software, yet. (not connected to the internet, yet, either), again, admin has full security rights. There are no error messages displayed either.
This is the 4.0 install from the CD. I tried to see if there was an update on the web, but all I found was 5.0 and I knew that wasn't going to help us so it wasn't downloaded.
Thanks for the prompt reply!

This may sound a silly question but when you're running the installation, are you inserting the CD and letting the CD run, then selecting one of the 4 installation options or are you copying the installation information off of the CD, locating a setup executable and manually running it?

No, frankly, since the PageGate directory was already network share, I assumed (apparently incorrectly) that we could access that share from a workstation (or terminal server in this case) and run the install across the network. I'm 30 miles from the actual site, so sneaker netting a CD from Workstation to workstation is not very practical.

The installation routine isn't built into the program directory. You could, however, copy the contents of the CD onto a network accessible directory but you'd definitely want to make sure that you ran the pgsetup.exe file. That's the executable that actually runs the installation.
