We have been getting unreadable messages coming across the systems. Most pages are fine has anyone else had messed up pages? Thanks

Does it happen with multiple carriers or is it only devices on one specific carrier?

Also, is it pagers, cel phones, or a combination that are receiving the odd characters?

Arch Paging is the only carrier. So the problem might be on the carrier side?

Potentially. I think it might actually be device specific, since I've seen that a few times.

With the devices (I'm assuming they're pagers since you go through Arch Wireless) that are receiving the garbled messages, this may sound silly, but I'd like you to power the device off, take the battery out, wait 30 seconds, then pop the battery in and power it back on.

Then send a test message to the device and see if it receives the garbage characters again. That's a trick I picked up from Arch a few years ago.

It could also be:

Low battery
RF Interference (is the pager near an electric motor, PC, LCD Monitor, etc)
The pager may be slightly off frequency due to being dropped
