Hi all

Is there any capability to monitor PageGate Server by SNMP or script based query?
Reason: we had some issues, that PG stops working and in those cases we would like to be informed, that our Monitoring Environment has lost its "speaking tube".

Primary measuring point will be the pending counter, we think

Best regards
Jimmy

There are a few different ways PageGate can be monitored to send out messages when something goes wrong but the easiest would be to use our PageGate version 5 Monitor.

The version 5 Monitor has the ability to keep tabs on PageGate and notify you under many different circumstances (The Pending messages hasn't been empty in X minutes, for example). It then sends out a notifcation to an individual or group of individuals via our other program, NotePager Pro.

The version 5 PageGate Monitor can be downloaded here:

Hi

I took a look at your tool. THe key point is: The tool allows only a "NotePagerPro Recipient" (which I assume, that a PageGate recipient could be taken too)
But what if messages are blocked in that way I described in the other thread?
I think that no message would get out of the PageGate Server, would they?

I would prefer a snmp poll or somethinh script based, which can be ran off an other node (we have nagios and HP Systems Insight Manager running in house.
In those nodes we are able to create a seperate notification rue for that service so we get informed if somethings wrong on the PageGate Server.

Isn't that a good idea? (Well I know, PageGate normally is quite reliable but we try to get the most security as it gets to keep our systems running and get informed if something's wrong.

Regards
Jimmy
