Yes, they can. In fact, the version 5 PageGate Monitor can make use of NotePager Pro to send out alerts to a tech or techs if Pagegate ever has a problem.

With the same user ID and on the same workstation? I had this standalone version of NotePager installed and now am trying to load page gate and experiencing problems. So I thought both app can't bo co-existed. When I tried to set up the PageGate GUI; it's giving me error message as following:
Error #401 Can't show non-modal form when modal form is displayed in procedure:setup_form apply....
With the title of NotePager of the pop- up window.

The same user ID should work for both NotePager Pro and the GUI Client. The modal error you're receiving actually isn't related to NotePager Pro.
I was wondering, did you install the GUI Client on that computer from the latest downloaded installation or is it an older installation? I haven't seen that error in some time.

Well, I have NotePager Pro v3.0 and both PageGate Admin. and PageGate GUI on v4.0. Will this be a problem?

No, it shouldn't be a problem at all. The modal problem you're running into is usually fixed by updating your installation of the GUI Client to the latest build of version 4. Here's what you'll want to do:
1) Make a backup copy of your c:\program files\pagegate\pagegate.mdb file - this file contains all of your registration, carrier, recipient, mailbox, and connectors information.
2) Make a backup copy of the c:\program files\pagegate\mailboxes\ directory, if it exists.
3) We've posted a new build of PageGate on our website, so download the new installation from here:
http://www.notepage.net/download/pgv4.exe
4) Uninstall the PageGate Client. When prompted, select the full uninstall option.
5) Use the pgv4.exe file you downloaded in step 3 to install the latest build of the PageGate Client (select the PageGate Client option when prompted).
Once you've installed the latest build of the GUI Client, you shouldn't get that modal error anymore.

All right, I think I need to clarify that I am trying to load the PageGate GUI on the PC with NotePager 3.0. When I pointed the client to go to the location of PageGate Admin. Server, I got that Error #401. But I am able to remote to the PageGate Admin server via cmd. For testing purpose, I copied the pagagate.mdb to the local PC and then I got this time out of sync error. How should I approach this? I didn’t try to point the GUI to read the npp.mdb, do you think it will work this way?

Actually, the PageGate client needs to point to the same database as the PageGate Admin. Which is to say, the PageGate Server runs on a PC. If the GUI Client is installed on the same PC as the PageGate Server, the path will be a local path.
If the Client is running on a workstation, the Client MUST point to the network location of the database, just as the Admin does.
Now, what you may be running into is that the Admin and the Client access the database in slightly different ways. The Admin accesses the functions that add/remove entries but doesn't actually care whether or not any of the services are running.
The client, however, logs into the database a little differently and sometimes with slightly different permissions than the Admin.
What you may want to do is set the network permissions of the PageGate Database directory so that everyone has full control, then try to use the Client.

I can install the client GUI on all the other PCs but why run into problem with this one? The only different of this PC with the others is that this one has Notepager loaded. So that's why I suspected the problem might lie on NotePager in the first place. All are allow to get to \\<server>\pagegate$.
Thanks.

That's quite odd... I'm not sure what to tell you. NotePager Pro can co-exist with any of the PageGate Applications, whether it be the Admin, the Client, the Monitor, or even the PageGate Server. The error 401 isn't related to NotePager Pro but I'm not sure why you're receiving that error on that particular PC. I suspect it has something to do with network permissions. Can you verify that the user on that PC has the appropriate network priveleges to read, write, and modify the Network directory that hosts the Pagegate database?
