|
|
Hi all
Yesterday we had a bad behaviour on our PageGate Server:
The modem seems to be locked by another application (no idea which one should use the modem on our server, but PageGate tells me so)
Unfortunately, the message was tried continously to be sent via this ISDN modem.
All other messages which should be sent via SMTP to our Internet Paging provider were blocked behind.
After cancelling the messages for the ISDN Carrier, al other messages were delivered successfully via SMTP to our provider.
Is there any possibilty to change this behaviour by processing the messages not absolutely seqentially? (If one message fails continously)
The main point is: we are using PageGate for our Server monitoring solution and take the failover option to swith to the ISDN modem if a message could not be delivered via Internet (if Internet Link is down for example)
So we are in need of a certain reliability that the messages are sent in any possible way.
We have 100 User, 1 Dialer and the GetMail Module licensed.
THanky in advance and best regards
Jimmy

Just out of curiosity, if you go to the Connectors - Global - Settings section, what settings do you have set there?

In the meantime I soleved the problem with the blocked modem (I hope): It was Windows, which recognizes our ELSA TL V.34 as a "Microsoft Serial Ball Point"..... *confused*
disabling this "Ball Point" releases the modem....
Remaining question is: why does PG intend to process the messages strictly sequentially and blocks all other messages?
Thanks in advance
Jimmy
