CMS Error: 303

Hi, I am trying to send a text message through a sony ericsson, log attached below:

I have read on the web that some sony ericssons don't support the AT+ CMGF=1 command and only AT+CMGF=0 is there anything I can do to get this to work?

The carrier is vodafone and the protocol is GSMAT.

Hi,

It could be 1 of 2 things:

1) If you purchased the phone from VodaFOne, they MAY have locked out access to the modem feature via AT commands

2) Have you tried manually entering the AT command string?

I have tried putting the strings in through hyperterminal which gives the same error code (cms error: 303).

Other AT strings seem to be accepted fine, if I can't resolve it i'll have to get an older phone from ebay or something.

I did some more diging on your behalf and found that the error you are having is not specifically the phone - it is on the NETWORK side. This tells me that the cellular carrier account under which it is subscribed is blocking the feature from working. You may want to check with the carrier and see if they can upgrade the phone's account to a cost effective unlimited messaging plan (kind of like Cingular's $9.95/mth Enterprise plan)
