|
|
Is NotePager Pro v3.0 able to dial a phone number directly? We have some new people who have cell phones and blackberries and they would like the pages to go directly to these devices rather than carrying a separate pager. I have read that the software can do this but can not find out HOW to do this. We currently are on dial up service.

Would you want to deliver the messages to the cel phones and blackberries via the Internet or Modem?

To configure NotePager Pro to deliver modem based messages to cel phone carriers, this is what you'll want to do:
1) Open NotePager Pro.
2) Go to the Carriers menu and left click on Add.
3) Name the Carrier what it needs to be (Verizon, Nextel, etc)
4) Set the Protocol to TAP.
5) In the phone number, you'll need to entire the phone number for one of the TAP Terminals hosted by the carrier. You can find a list of TAP Terminal phone numbers at the following location:
http://www.notepager.com/tap-phone-numbers.htm
6) Once the phone number is entered, set the baud rate to 1200, parity to even, data bits to 7, stop bits to 1.
7) Set the init string to (auto)
8) Click on Apply to have it add the carrier into the list.
---------------------------------------------
Once the carrier has been added, you'll want to set recipients to use that carrier.
1) Go to the Recipient menu and left click on Add.
2) Name the recipient however you want to name them.
3) Set the Carrier to whichever carrier is appropriate for the device you wish to message.
4) In the ID/PIN section, put the 10 digit phone number of the device you wish to reach.
5) Make sure that Alpha and Drop non-printable characters are checked.
6) Click on Apply.

For the recipients, no.
For the carriers, if it is a long distance number or an 800 number, yes.

Should the message type be normal or ad-hoc? Does it matter?

Disregard my previous message, I realized it didn't make sense, and I have answered my own question.
