I'm confused about the SMTP delivery setup for NotePager Pro. Can you help?

Hi Bob,
Here are a couple of things that you will need to do in order to send messages using NotePager Pro (v3.0) and SMTP delivery.
1.) 'Add' a Carrier named "SMTP".
2.) Select SMTP as the protocol.
3.) Enter a Local Domain. This needs to look something like "xyz.com" or "abc.net".
4.) Select "Deliver Directly to Destination Server"
5.) Make sure there is at least one DNS Server IP address listed. This does not include "0.0.0.0" , as this is not a valid IP address.
6.) Please ensure you have a 'Sender's Name' under 'Tools' - 'Settings' - 'General'. The "Sender's Name" cannot contain any spaces. It can contain upper/lowercase letters, numerals, periods, hyphens and underscores.
7.) When you 'Add' or 'Edit' a Recipient, select "SMTP" from the 'Carrier' drop down list.
8.) The 'ID/Pin' field name should change to 'E-Mail to:'
9.) Type in the e-mail address for the Recipient's Cell Phone. It should look something like this format - 11122233@vodaphone.net (or whoever your carrier is)
You will need to contact your carrier to determine their SMTP format. We have a number of them listed at http://www.notepage.net/smtp.htm
After you apply the changes, you should be able to send messages to the cell phone as long as you are connected to the Internet. SMTP requires a connection to the Internet for it to work.
Goodluck

Just to clarify LOCAL DOMAIN is the xxxxx.com of whatever ISP you are currently conecting to the Internet with.
Is If I am on bellsouth DSL and my email was xxx@bellsouth.net I would set my LOCAL DOMAIN to bellsouth.net
If I am connecting with comcast then it is comcast.com
If I am using netzero.net then it would be netzero.net
Since you do not support Authentication I cannot Use Bellsouth.net while I am connected through netzero.net.
Am I clear here?
thanks

If a full email address is entered into the "Sender's Name" field ('Tools' - 'Settings' - 'General') NotePager Pro will use that for the SMTP "From" address.
Otherwise, NotePager Pro will create a "From" address using "Sender's Name"+"@"+"Local Domain"
Example = joe@notepagex.com
Sender's Name = joe
Local Domain = notepagex.com
The Local Domain does not necessarily need to be the same Domain that your ISP uses.
We do recommend that the "Local Domain" be an existing domain (due to Carriers increasingly performing Domain lookups in an attempt to stem the flow of SPAM to mobile devices).
If a Carrier does a lookup but finds no record for the "Local Domain" that you are using, the Carrier may reject the message. It may also appear to "accept" the message, but silently drop the delivery.
