We are a new user of pagegate. We are using the ascii interface and it works great. We are considering purchasing the TAP interface and have some questions.
We will be interfacing with Avaya's Messaging 2000 voice mail system.
1. Your software is sitting on the same server as our CAD Dispatch software, will the TAP in any way slow the machine down. I understand that while processing a message it will use some CPU but while it's "Listening" will it slow anything down.
2. I assume I will need some type of tranlation table where if voicemail sends out a notification of mail like sending "144" I can translate that to the shortname _obrien_tim_phone. And maybe use a static message of "YOU'VE GOT VOICEMAIL" that will be sent thru pagegate.
3. Right now there are about 8 modems on the voicemail system and they dial out on seperate analog lines. I assume they send out 1 call for each new message for each user. This might be a VM vendor question but can
VM send a batch of notifications rather than one at a time. So if a VM group of 50 members was left a message would TAP interface receive one
call with 50 id's or would it receive 50 calls.
