We are running Pagegate 4.0 on a windows 95 machine. The database resides on a network server, and 3 other clients access the system. Starting Wednesday we started getting an error stating the PGMailServer has performed and illegal operation and will be shut down.

I have restored the database to a copy from before we started getting this error thinking the DB had just gone bad or been corrupted. This had not affect.

Any suggestions for a next step? Or is it best to just re-install pagegate?

Do you own, and are you actively using PageGate's GetAscii interface? If not, in PG Admin go to 'Program/Settings' and uncheck the 'GetMail' interface box.
