Hi,
I've just finished installing the PageGate 4.0 demo version at our site for eval purposes. It's running on a Windows 2000 workstation. I believe everything is set up the way it should be, but for whatever reason, all pages I send from the GUI are accepted, but they continually show as pending and are not delivered. So far, the GUI is the only interface I have set up. It does not matter whether I configure the Messaging service to use SNPP pr WCTP, it doesn't send them.
We're using both USA Mobility and American Messaging as clients. I have the WCTP and SNPP settings correct, as I can page via these protocols from a different program running on the same workstation.
I keep seeing folks posting connection logs, but I'm not able to locate these logs in my system. All I see are the message status logs internal to the modules. Are these logs specific to dial-up? (which I'm not using)
I have restarted the PageGate Server several times and this has not helped.
Help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

It sounds like you don't have any of the dialer modules enabled. Dialer is actually a bit of a misnomer because it doesn't mean "pick up the phone and dial". It means "activate a protocol to send a message".
So, if you open the PageGate Admin and go to the Program - Settings section, make sure that at least Dialer1 is checked.

Thanks! That was it! Actually, you're right. It is a bit confusing.
If I have several messaging services I need to send to, some preferring SNPP and some WCTP, will I need to run an additional dialer for each of them?

No, you won't need to run multiple dialers for multiple carriers or protocols, one dialer can generally handle most things. You would want to use multiple dialers, for example, if you needed to send a hundred messages every thirty minutes. You would definitely want to make more than one simultaneous connection, which is what multiple dialers is for.
