First off I need to apologize for this question for its most likely been asked. I have been searching for the answers but am unable to find it.

I currently have a customer using the Pagegate program and the are using a mail server called Firstclass mail. They have the mail server setup with mail lists to forward to a mailbox and then pagegate pulls from that mailbox and pages the person.

I am completely unfamiliar with both pagergate and firstclass.

The issue I am having is we are migrating this customer to exchange 2003. I am needing some type of instruction on how to configure pagegate to use exchange. I am able to get pagegate to pull from a mail box but am unable to figure out how to add the 200 users into exchange so that page gate will recognize them and then people will be able to page then using exchange.

If someone can point me to some instruction of support site to get this setup. Or if their is a better solution I am will to listen.

Thanks

Joey

Joey,

It should be fairly straightforward. Exchange is going to be hosting a mail domain. PageGate is going to be looking for mailboxes on that domain. All you really should have to do is create each of the mailboxes as POP3 mailboxes in Exchange.

Once the mailboxes actually exist, it should just be a matter of giving PageGate the appropriate information per recipient to check those email addresses.

ok i have my exchange box in and page gate working with it. trying to follow how the people before me setup the system im changing out. i setup an distribution group for each person I have a pager for and added a mailbox name "Pagedrop" to them all. the pagegate checks the ever 30 seconds to see if there is a message for some one to be pages.

the issue i'm having now is. say i want want to page "Sam and Betty" i send a e-mail to those 2 account using outlook. i check the pagedrop mailbox and i see 1 message in that mail box with both sam and betty name on it. page gate picks up that message and send sam a page but not betty.

This most likely a exchange issue but i am unable to think of how to correct it.

was i wrong to set up the accounts that are for paging as distributions groups? i tryed setting 1 pager up as a user and then trying to page that person along with a perosn setup as a distribution group but again only 1 message in the mail box to page gate to pick up.

Please help

When you send "Sam and Betty" an email, do you have just one email address and then reference Sam and Betty in the subject line? Or do you do it a different way?

the link on here is a link to what we have in are outlook when we send a page.
sam and betty are 2 differnt peoples account. if we try to page them both with in the same e-mail only the first person will get paged. on are page gate server we do have groups setup for make people. like we have 1 for a whole dept. like "records_dept". if we send a page to Record_dept, the message goes to the pagedrop e-mail box then the pagegate server picks that up and then out the pages to all those in the group Records_dept. in the page gate. that works fine. but like if we wanted to send a page to "Records_dept" and "SAM_pager". only the records dept gets the page.

so we have 2 accounts in the To: line but they both are sent within exchange to the pagedrop mailbox for pagegate to pickup and in the subject line we have jsut the subject of the message.

If we are doing this a totally wrong way please let me know. I'll accept that. i just would like to know how we should be doing this. we have about 200 pager accounts plus a few pager groups.

thanks
