Ok, here is the deal. I have used NP for years to page out rescue divers to whatever they carry, phone, pager, etc, on a phone line from my house. I also have the ability to go wireless at my firehouse, but I cant get it to use WCTP settings. I ran the modem wiz, and it tested bad on SNPP, SMTP, but passed with WCTP.
Is there a way to fix without me running to the kitchen and using a phone line?
We mainly use nextels, with some Verizons and an Ameritech or two also.
Thanks,
Digger

The connection wizard isn't always necessarily correct when it runs the tests. Just to see if it will work, set up a WCTP carrier to Ameritech or Verizon and see if it goes through.
As for Nextel, you should be able to use their SNPP host.

So, does Notepager automatically pick a wireless connection when it is up, or do I have to set up two different paging sheets for when I am on a dialup?
The connection moniter keeps saying TAP protocol, I am not sure how to change that.
Thanks,
Steve

Well, NotePager Pro doesn't actually influence the wireless connection at all. All it really does is activate a protocol to send SMS message. Now, the protocols may require either an internet connection or a modem depending on which protocol you choose.
To modify the protocol that the program uses, you should be able to go to
Carriers - Edit, highlight your carrier and click on Edit. Then select the protocol from the drowndown list.
