Heres my problem. My Note Pager pro was working fine. Now I get unable to connect to carrier. No settings were changed. I use Tap through SelectPath. The setting are the same as they are at work and they have no problem sending a message.

While on the NotePager Pro main screen, hit <ctrl.<alt><d>. This should turn on more detailed logging. Next, post back here what is shown in the dialer log.

Here is what the log read:
start connection to carrier: Selectpath
Connect using TAP protocol
Setting communication parameters

Attempting to reset modem

Recieved:AT<CR><LF>OK<CR><LF>
modem reset
Attempting to send carrier init string
Sent:AT&FQ0V1X4&D2<CR>
Recieved:<CR><LF>OK<CR><LF>
Carrier init string sent
Dialing carrier
Sent:ATDT18007483324<CR>
Waiting for connection
Recieved:<CR><LF>NO CARRIER<CR><LF>
Unable to connect to carrier
attempting to hang up modem
Sent:AT<CR>
Recieved:<CR><LF>OK<CR><LF>
Modem hung up

I'm not sure what has changed. Perhaps your carrier changed/upgraded the modems on their end. First thing to try is setting the init string on the carrier settings screen back to '(auto)', and see if it chooses a different init string.

If that doesn't help, please post your modem make and model.
