Hi,
I am trying to send a numeric "notification" type of page.
Normally when I send to this pager, I use a telephone, and simply dial the number, then punch in the call back number to be transmitted to the pager.
When I use NotePager 32, however, it dials the number perfectly. I can hear (through the modem speaker) that the phone has been answered and is waiting to receive a number. However, NotePager 32 does not send anything. it does not send the "Notification" value from the "recipient" page. Also it will not allow me to even send the page at all unless I enter a message. However, I am not trying to send a message, only a notification ( i checked "Notification Only" on the recipient page.)
So my question is: How do I send a numeric page?
Also, there is no PIN required, yet NotePager 32 insists that I enter one.
I would like to upgrade to the next version, but I don't want to do so if I am unable to send numeric "notification" type of pages.
Please help!
Thanks

Go to 'Carriers' -> 'Edit', and make sure the protocol is set to 'TONE'

thanks for the tip. I tried it, but now the software is unable to dial the modem.
The connection log says first "Deliver using touch tones". Then, after formatting the message, it says "trying to reset the modem". After 3 tries it fails. Is there any way to get this to work?
The software dials the modem just fine when in TAP mode. I can get it to ring a telephone. But when I change the protocal to TONE, it seems unable to communicate with the modem for some reason.

Both TAP and TONE reset and dial the modem in the same way. It doesn't make sense that one would work and not the other. Are you sure that another program isn't trying to use the modem at the same time?
Try setting the carrier back to TAP, and sending a test message and make sure the modem dials. Then immediately switch the carrier to use TONE. On the next retry attempt, the dialer module will dial for TONE delivery.
Did they do anything differently?
