M J appending to end of paged message - getASCII

Hello,
I am going crazy trying to find out what is going on here. I have an app that is creating an ASCII file to save in the polling folder for the GetASCII interface. It is working except the message I receive appends a "M J" to the end of it. I am using a Dialer (modem) to send the message. I then tried creating the file using Notepad with no added characters and the same thing. What's happening???? Have you seen this before?

The M and the J are a carriage return character and a linefeed character, being displayed on the pager as an M and a J. Try checking the 'Drop non-printable characters' box on the recipient's setup screen.
