Try using the 800-469-5351 number with 1200 baud, even parity, 7 data bits, and 1 stop bit. Connection problems can ususally be solved with the proper init string. Set our software to use '(auto)' for the init string. It will make the correct choice most of the time.
If that doesn't help, please post the make and model of your modem. I would recommend posting in the forum for the particular product you have. You may also find the answer to your problem there from a previous post.
