I need to stop NotePager Pro sending the ATDT string to my modem.

For some reason my phone line doesn't use a dial tone that NotePager Pro acknowledges, so I have to turn ATDT off to get it to dial.

Please help!

On most modems you can send an 'X3' as part of the init string (replacing the X4 that is normally there), and the modem won't wait for a dial tone before dialing.

So, what you'll want to do is edit the carrier that you're trying to send the message to. Look at the init string and look for X4. Replace X4 with X3 and that should do the trick.

Thanks for your help but I still haven't had any success. I'm using an Agere Systems PCI Soft Modem.

Can you tell me where NotePager gets the init string that it sends from? For example from 22:10:37 onwards.

Here's my log:

In the program, go to Carriers - Edit. Highlight the BT Carrier (since that's the one referenced in the log you posted) and click on Edit.

You should see the section for the init string right there.
