We have the Pagegate 4 (5000 user licence) and I have a requirement to do a mass SMS out in the coming weeks. I do not want to have to setup each mobile number as a recipient especially as I will not know their details (names). Is there a way to send the same message to all of these however reading in their mobile numbers from a text file? We do not have the option of using a pin or anything like that in australia.

Thanks

Are you licensed for the GetAscii module? You mentioned that you have the 5000 user license for PageGate but if you want to read the message to a set of recipients from a text file, you'll need the GetAscii module.

What you're wanting to do can be done, it's just a little tricky to do it the first time. Basically, you'll absolutely need to know what carrier to deliver the messages to. For example, are all of the people you want to send this mass SMS on the same carrier?

Once you've determined who uses what carrier, you'll need to create an ad-hoc recipient for each carrier (name these special recipients something really obvious, like ahverizon, ahalltel, etc) and, of course, set their type to Ad-Hoc.

Then you can have the GetAscii module read in whatever text file(s) you have, though some special configuration may need to happen if you're using an odd format in the text file(s).
