I bought Notepager Pro to work with Orion System Manager by Solarwinds. If you want to send pages you need Notepager.
Solarwinds runs as a sevice, but I am unable to see a way of making Notpager do so also. Is there any way of running this as a service? Its running on WIndows 2003 Server.
Thanks
Jer

NotePager Pro does not need to run as a Service when used with Orion. Orion is able to execute the NotePager Pro application when needed.

I'm having the same issue. If I do not open Notepager after rebooting the server, it will not dial out to my pager.
There is a way to fix it as a coworker of mine made it work, I just can't get a hold of him at the moment.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Shawn

We apologize for the delay in responding. We have been testing several options and neglected to update the forum with that information.
As we stated, there is no NATIVE way to run NotePager Pro as a true NT Service.
You can however, create a Service using the Applications as Services Utility (SrvAny) tool from the Windows Resource Kit and a registered copy of NotePager Pro. This will not work with an evaluation copy.
Directions for installing and configuring the service are found in the Windows Resource Kit help, or in the Microsoft Knowledge base Q Article #137890.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/q137890/
After the Service is configured, you will need to un-check "Allow Service to interact with Desktop" (found on the "Log On" tab in that service's "Properties") to prevent NotePager Pro from terminating when a user logs off.
Running NotePager Pro in this state will not allow you access to the NotePager Pro GUI. To access NotePager Pro, you will need to stop the service, select "Allow Service to interact with Desktop", and start the application from the Start Menu.

NotePage does not officially support running NotePager Pro as a Service, as the program is not designed to do so. PageGate is designed to run as a Service, and with the Commandline/Ascii Interface makes integration easy.
A registered copy of NotePager Pro does not need to run as a Service when used with SolarWinds.Net's Orion Network Performance Manager, which is able to execute NotePager Pro when needed. Integration information at http://www.notepage.net/solar-winds/integrationfaq.htm
The NotePager Pro 30-day trial splash screen interferes with the integration of SolarWinds' Orion. To suppress the splash screen add "/minimized" (without the quotations) to the commandline when you run npp.exe. The splash screen will reappear about 20 days into the trial. When the computer is on and the NotePager Pro evaluation is up and running there is no interference with SolarWinds' Orion.
Download a free evaluation of NotePager Pro and PageGate at http://www.notepage.net/software.htm
