Yesterday our PageGate server quit accepting SMTP messages. The PGMailService was running (according to Windows) but a telnet to port 25 on our PageGate server would not connect. Restarting PageGate from within PGAdmin caused it to start working again. I saw nothing in the windows event logs or any PageGate logs to indicate a problem. This is a Windows 2003 server dedicated to PageGate. Any ideas? Also, two weeks ago I upgraded to the latest PageGate build.

To tell you the truth, I'm not sure why it would stop. It could have hung on a particular message that it had trouble processing.

If it happens again, before you reset the PageGate server, have a look in the mail processing directory to see if there's a particular message that's holding things up. If there is a particular message, please email that .msg file to support@notepage.com so we can have a look at it.

I actually did look there and the MainIn directory was empty. I think GetMail was working but PGMailService.
