I registered for the Verizon WCTP.

I configured NotePager Pro for Verizon WCTP.

I got the patch to fix the @ in the SenderID field.

Now it keeps telling me "Invalid UserID".

What do I use for my userid? I have a Verizon Cell Phone (Palm Treo 650). If tried my cell phone number with and without dashes including the area code. I also tried creating a user on the Verizon WCTP site for me and using my UserID from that as the recipient ID.

I'm not getting anywhere. Does it have something to do with "airmail.com" and not "verizon.com"?

Thanks!

Since you're using NotePager Pro, have you gone into the Tools - Settings - General section and replaced the Sender's Name with the username given to you by Verizon?

If so, have you gone into the settings of your Verizon Carrier and input the password you registered with?

Actually, I should have paid better attention to your original post as the reason was there all along. The Verizon WCTP connection is only for Verizon's Pagers. They don't include their cel phones in the terminal listing for the WCTP relay. So, if you're trying to send a message to your cel phone and submitting your cel phone's number to the pager WCTP relay, that's why you're getting the error.

Currently, as far as I'm aware, the only way to deliver a message to a Verizon Cel Phone is through their SMTP connection. It's the only one they support for their cel phones.

Yes. I got past all the invalid sender id stuff. It is including the correct senderid and password.

I'm trying this out half-expecting it to not work. As long as I've been trying to get the Verizon thing to work (years), it has always come down to myairmail is not part of Verizon and does not work with Verizon cell phones. I'm just wondering if it ever changed or if others can get it to work with their Verizon cell phones or not?

Thanks. You are quick to respond so we seem a little out-of-phase in our questions/answers.

The only thing about the SMTP is the time delay. I've been using a straight HTTP POST to https://www.vtext.com but they've made some changes to that and they show up on my cell as being either from "email gateway" or from "MSGID05_????????". I was trying to find a way to standardize all the text messages to be "from" our network monitoring software so I can set a special alert tone for it.

I will keep trying.

Thanks for all your help!
