I have several users on my network recieving messages via SNPP on their Cingular phones. We have activated Enterprise paging on these devices. I've been unable to successfully configure the devices to receive text messages reliably. One of the users advised me that he was receiving the messages multiple times. However, the logs show the messages failed. Below is an example of one of the messages that was received by the user but shows to have failed:
2/24/2006 1:40:13 PM Working on message to: macsassteve from: sgoldstein
2/24/2006 1:40:13 PM Formatting message
2/24/2006 1:40:13 PM Message contained in single packet

2/24/2006 1:40:15 PM Sent:RESE
2/24/2006 1:40:16 PM Received:250 Reset OK
My concern starts with the line wher it states: 2/24/2006 1:40:13 PM Received:250 Pager Id 19403912040 Accepted . It shows an extra 1 in front of the device phone number. Also, near the last of the message is the following: 2/24/2006 1:40:15 PM Received:960 9403912040 3313925 OK, Message accepted for Delivery
2/24/2006 1:40:15 PM Message not accepted
As I said, the device receives the message but the GUI shows the message to have failed.

It looks as if Cingular is the first carrier to be using the new SNPP version 3 specifications for two-way paging. What that means is that the 'standard' 250 response is not being used, and the new 900 series response is being used instead. I think our latest dialers can handle this. I will check and post back here soon.

PageGate dialers v4.0.96 should be able to handle that no problem. Check the file version of your PGDial1.exe file to see what version you are running.

Simply download the latest evaluation version from our website, and install it over your existing version.
- Make a backup of your current setup first
- Make sure all PageGate programs are stopped before upgrading
- All your data/settings/registration/etc. will be retained
