I am trying to send a message, using SMTP for Sprint. It is listed as an option using the 10digitnumber@messaging.sprintpcs.com, yet, it fails when it is sent using NotePager Pro, version 3.0.

Any suggestions?

The recipient must contact Sprint and ask them to activate the phone's E-mail address - they don't do it by default and they'll probably charge an MRC for it

I should give you more info....the text messaging or paging works with SMTP...if I use, for example, Outlook express. However, if I use Notepager Pro, using SMTP, it does not. If whoever has an idea about this, and you need more info, please let me know. Oh, by the way, I am typically behind a firewall, but I disabled it for a test, and sent a page with Sprint as the carrier, and using SMTP, and it failed.

Is your ourlook configured to use a relay server for email delivery? Additionally, set up a couple of test recipients both using an SMTP carrier. Put an email address behind your firewall in the ID field of one and an email outside the firewall for the other (I like Gmail - definately outside your firewall and lightning fast connections). Try sending tests to those.
