When the SMTP test fails, it's generally caused by one of a few things:
1) Your personal Firewall (Norton, McAfee, ZoneAlarm, etc) is blocking port 25 for every program except your default mail program. You'll need to create an exception in the rules of your Firewall or Antivirus to allow NotePager to send its messages.
2) Port 25 (the SMTP port) is blocked on your internet connection. This can be caused by your internal firewall (if you have a hardware firewall) or your ISP has blocked port 25 in favor of using a relay server. Contact your network admin or ISP about this and, if they use a relay server, find out what the relay server is. |
