I've installed the trial version of Note Page Pro and am trouble setting it up. First I am using a laptop with a wireless connection. I am trying to page via a local system, not sure of the name or type, but there is an access number, example ###-###-####. Then you enter the PIN or pager number which is a 3 digit number. The system is an alpha-numeric system that is used by local law enforcement, EMS, Rescue and the hosptial. Any have ideas or is more info needed? Thanks

Okay... based on the information you've given, I think I have a rough idea of how you'll need to set it up.
First off, since there is an access number that must be dialed (###-###-####) you can't use your Wireless Connection to send messages to that terminal. You must have a regular dial-up modem installed. Chances are it's a TAP Terminal, so you'll want to set up a TAP Carrier in NotePager Pro.
So, in NotePager Pro, you'll want to do this:
1) Go to Carriers and Add.
2) Name the carrier whatever you please.
3) Set the Protocol to TAP
4) Enter the phone number, data bits, stop bits, and parity specified by your carrier (you may need to contact the local hosting company if you're not sure of the settings).
5) Set the Init String to (auto).
6) Click on apply to add the carrier record.
7) When entering the recipient information, the only information that you really need to be concerned with is the ID/PIN field - that's where you enter in the 3 digit number assigned to the device by the paging system. |
