Any tips on what causes Error 429 when starting a client? Other clients on other machines are working.

This is usually caused when one of the support files (.dll, .ocx, etc.) that the client uses is not longer on the system (accidentally deleted?). Try re-installing the client. This should put the file back. All you data will be kept if you just install over the existing version.
