I want to be able to send messages via SMTP from pagegate. Our ISP doesn’t allow non-authenticated SMTP messages. I can't seems to find any settings to add SMTP server authentication, and don't even think its an option. If that’s not possible what are some alternatives we can do to send messages via email. The server is running on Windows XP Pro .

Version 4 didn't have the ability to authenticate with SMTP Servers but version 5 does.
If you expand the carriers section, then click on the + next to a carrier's name, you should see an Advanced section. If you go to the Advanced section, you should see a password field.
Depending on the style of authentication you use, you can enter a password there and click on apply. If the authentication required is a username and password, enter the username, a pipe, and then the password without any spaces. So, for example: npsupport|password |

Well I added the user name and password but still receive the same message when sending "Message not Accepted". Its really strange becuase I'm able to send email just fine using Outlook with or without authentication.

Whose server are you trying to deliver through, your ISP's or an internal Exchange/SMTP server? |

With regards to the posting of the actual mail server, I don't know if that's yours, your ISP's, or a different mail host? I was just asking so I could get you to verify with whoever actually runs the SMTP server what authentication information is required. It may be a proper email address and password, it may just be a password, it may just be passing some specific domain information in the SMTP transaction. We need to know for sure.
As for installing SMTP on your local box, it's not quite that easy. By default, if port 25 is open on your network, you should be able to use DNS for direct delivery or messages but the trouble with that is that Verizon, for example, doesn't always accept direct DNS request.
The second delivery method is using a local SMTP server because server to server traffic is rarely blocked or denied. Now, can you run and host your own local mail server? Yes but you'd need your own domain and redirect the MX record for that domain to the server that's going to be hosting the domain. |

If you would, please call your ISP's tech support and ask what to use for authentication information. |
