I have been using PageGate for almost a year with no problems. It is used to forward email to groups of cell phones. All messages are sent by SMTP to cell phone providers. Recently I upgraded to version 5 and also to a new server. Everything worked great for about 2 weeks. Today PageGate started rejecting messages from a source that has been sending them just fine. The messages are being sent to recipients that have been getting them prior to this. The reason given is "is not a valid PageGate recipient". I added a test recipient and received the same message. This same error was received right after I upgraded because I loaded my vers 4 database of users before registering ver 5. Could my current problem be a licensing issue?

Earlier today I installed vers 5 on the old server to have it available as a spare. When I replaced the new server with the old one running ver 5 everything works again. I would like to get the new server back on line. Any suggestions? Would uninstalling and installing the program be of any use?

What is the difference between the "old" server where PageGate 5 works and the "new" one where PG doesn't? (ie: Same OS, same network permissions, same ports open, etc.)

How did you convert your version 4 database to version 5? Write yourself some kind of script, or some other method?

The two servers are basically the same. Same OS, I just confirmed the same ports are open and permissions are the same. Remember that the new server worked fine for a short time.

The vers 4 database was converted to vers 5 using the method described in the update procedure. I replaced the database created when vers 5 was first run with the ver 4 database. PageGage did the rest.

Any other ideas?

This may sound a little odd but give this a try:

1) In the PageGate Admin, go to Interfaces - GetMail - Settings.

2) Uncheck Enabled.

3) Click on Apply.

4) When it asks if you want this to be disabled for all recipients and groups, tell it yes.

5) Check Enabled.

6) Click on Apply.

7) When it asks if you want to enable this interface for all recipients and groups, tell it yes.

8) Right click on GetMail under the Interfaces list and left click on Start.

Let me know if it starts to work after that.
