OK, with your help I was able to import the users into pagegate. The problem is that none of the people that I imported work. I can still send eMail to the recipients that I manually created, but the ones that were imported all bounce back with:
PageGate rejected an incoming email message for the following reason:
daniel.westman is not a valid PageGate recipient
Received: 2/11/2004 11:06:40 AM
To: daniel.westman
Msg: : Test
A copy of the original message can be found in PageGate's badmsg folder with the filename: 212.ml
The database looks good, and will be eMailed to you shortly. So, what stupid thing am I doing this time?
Thanks
Mike

If the recipient that is being imported already exists, then the import routine doesn't try to recreate the mailboxes for those recipients.
Try this:
If you have MS Access 2000 or newer, open the PageGate database file (pagegate.mdb) and then open the 'users' table. Delete all the recipients that you want to import. Now try re-importing the recipients.
Please let us know if this doesn't help. |

When I did the import there were three users that I had manually created and 150 that were going to be imported. The three manually created ones still work. The 150 that I imported are now listed in the database and look goo, but they don't work.

Update, I just tested and I can send a message from the PG Admin, just not from eMail.

I got your file an replied with a possible fix yesterday. However I just noticed that you have sent us email from a couple of different addresses. I just sent the same reply to your other email address too.
Please let us know how you make out. |

I turns out that there was a problem with the simplified recipient import routine, where it didn't automatically create mailboxes for the imported recipients, when the GetMail interface was enabled. The problem was resolved and Mike is up and running.
I anyone has a similar problem, please email forumsupport@notepage.com and request the PG Admin version that was updated for this forum topic. |
