|

One of thePCs that I have GUI Client installed takes an excessive amount of time to pass the page on to the server. It typically takes about 5 minutes from the time the send button is pushed on the workstation until is shows up in the GUI Client window on the server. As far as I know, the other workstations are not exhibiting the delay, Web client works fine.
Any ideas?

Problems like this are usually the result of a networking problem on that station.
Here is a quick test. On a workstation that is working correctly, browse out the the folder on the network that holds the PageGate database file (pagegate.mdb). Copy the file to a temporary folder on the C: drive of the local computer. Time this process. Then do the same thing on the 'slow' computer. Does it take a noticeably longer time? |

I tried the test you suggested. There is no noticeable difference in the time it take on a good PC vs. the slow PC.

Lets try for a reload on that workstation.
Go into the Windows control panel and choose the 'Add/Remove Programs' icon. Chose to remove the PageGate client, and when asked, choose a full uninstall.
Next, if the c:\program files\pagegate client\ folder still exists, delete it.
Reboot and reinstall the client.
Let us know if you see any difference in behavior after the reload. |

That seems to have taken care of the problem. Thanks for the help!
