Hope someone can help. I have a spreadsheet that contains the User Names and Pager Numbers of our members. Is there a way to export this directly into Notepager Pro as a list of Recipients? We only need the name and number, none of the other info in the spreadsheet. Any help appreciated.

In order for NotePager Pro to import recipients, the text file to be imported needs to be in this format:

"recipient","FullName","ID/PIN","carrier","240",#TRUE#,#FALSE#,"999",#FALSE#,#FALSE#,"0",#FALSE#,#TRUE#,#FALSE#,#FALSE#,#FALSE#,"",""

Since you have a spreadsheet, most likely it's an Excel spreadsheet.

Excel files can be saved as CSV files (comma separated values).

The format that I posted earlier is a CSV format.

Which is to say, each of the columsn will correspond with a value.

What you should be able to do is copy and paste what I posted into a blank text document, then save that document as recip.csv (the extention is important). Then open that recip.csv file in Excel.

All of the fields listed are important and must be there but the only fields that will change from line to line are the first four.

The first field is recipient. This must be a completely lower case, no extraneous (commas, dashes, quotations, appostraphies, spaces, etc) characters.

The second field is the Full Name of the recipient. This probably corresponds to the list of User Names that you have in your existing file and can probably be pasted in.

The third field is the ID/PIN. This probably corresponds to the list of Pager Numbers you have in your existing file and can probably be pasted in.

The fourth field is the carrier. The carrier MUST match an existing carrier in NotePager Pro. For example, if your recipients are intended to be tied to the Metrocall carrier and you have named your carrier LocalMetro, you would enter LocalMetro as the carrier.

The remaining fields, while not needing to be modified, will need to be copied and pasted for each and every recipient. These fields MUST be there for the import to function properly. They set various options and background settings within the program.
