|
|
I have a pager that is in Canada - it is on Mobility - . I have some colleagues utilizing the same carrier and PageGate successfully pages them. I can page myself from the phone however when I attempt to page myself from page gate I receive the following error message.
"Bad ID or Message Content - Message Aborted"
Does anyone have a clue why this is happening.
Help!!!

You said the carrier was Mobility, do you mean Bell Mobility? Also, how do you have the carrier configured in PageGate? |

Does the text of the message contain "@" or any other special characters? Some paging ternminals (especially those installed pre-1997) will interpret these as commands and cancel the message_________________ Aaron D. Osgood

Also, would you please email the pgdial1.log file to support@notepage.com - I'd like to have a look at the command and response sequence when you send the messages. |

I just found out something the pager with the problem does not have national coverage. The other pagers have national coverage. Could this be a problem?

That would explain why the terminal you're submitting the message to is rejecting the number, the national terminal doesn't have the ID for that particular device. Since you're using Bell Mobility, I'm not sure which of the terminals would actually have the ID in it but you can find a listing of the Bell Mobility Canada TAP Terminals here:

That's it!!! I tried the first number on the list the 800 number and it works Perfect. The only problem now is the pager is not getting the pages - humm not sure why though. Calling Bell Mobility. The system is getting and accepting the pages however. The pager does work I can page them from a telephone.

If we're getting the Successful message from the terminal, it means that the terminal accepted the message for delivery and that's as far as our program can track the message. The actual delivery from the terminal to the device is up to the carrier and you're on the right track with contacting the carrier directly about it. |

I can page out successfully on bell mobility to the 1800 number..
it's when I use the 416 number it bounces back for cell phone sms numbers. I think the 416 number only refers to bell pagers
watch the dialer log.. if it accepts the pin then it should go out.
