I am testing Pagegate and am trying to configure the failover feature at the carier level.

I am connecting to our carrier via TAP and would like to failover to WCTP in case our dedicated line to our carrier fails.

The problem is that our carrier requires a 7 digit phone number over TAP and a 10 digit one over WCTP. Since the user account is configured to use the 7 digit TAP number, the failover does not work. I would think we would see the same thing when failing over between any other protocol since each one requires a different pin/number.

Therefore, how do you configure failover? Thanks.

Dana

In this case, you will need to failover at the recipient level for now. Basically setup two recipients, one with a 7-digit for TAP, and one with at 10-digit for WCTP.

The next release of PageGate will support exactly what you are looking for. However, I don't have any release dates yet.

You may want to check with your carrier if there is a different phone number you can use for the TAP terminal. They may have one that will accept the 10-digit PIN numbers.
