PageGate uses universal time when creating and sending messages. This is the correct procedure according to the RFC for the SMTP protocol. It is the responsibility of the email cllient to convert universal time to its local timezone. In the case of pagers or mobile phones, the carrier is the 'client' which then transfers the message to the pager or phone. You may want to contact them if they aren't converting the time to your local time.
In their defence, however, if you have nationwide service, how can they tell what time zone you are in? I guess technically they could tell by the tower you are communicating with, but I don't think their systems are sophisticated enough for that.
In other words, no great solutions come to mind. |
