I'm trying to set up PageGate to receive Tap pages.. then send out e-mails.
I believe I have the GetTap set up..
I have added Carriers, smtp for the protocol and my smtp server for the carrier.

Under Recipients
I set up the user, with GetTap as the only enabled Service.
Selected the Carrier
Entered the e-mail address I would like it to send to

Under Global, SMTP
I have my tried both my local domain, and the top level domain ( workgroup.domain.com & domain.com)
I have the relay server.. my SMTP server
and Relay ALL Mail checked.

I have s sniffer on port 25 of my SMTP server.. so I can at least see if anything is coming in.(this helps me eliminate the fact that the SMTP server is not configure properly... I should at least send the message to the server.. if the server does not relay the message.. that's the e-mail servers problem, not PageGate...)

I can right click on the Recipient, click on Pending Messages.. and see all the messages that should have been sent.
I can also click on the Recipient, click on send message.. which also ends up in the pending messages...

How to I clear the queue.. and have the message send when PG recives the messages ??

Thanks in advanced for all your help...
Hope I have provided enough info for you...

Scott

PageGate's 'Dialers' are responsible for sending out message, even SMTP messages. I realize the name is a little misleading (once upon a time the only way you could send messages to pagers/phones was via modem).

In PG Admin, go to 'Program' -> 'Settings'. Make sure that 'Dialer1' is checked.

Does PG Monitor or PG Admin show the status of Dialer 1 as running?

A couple of other settings to check in PG Admin:

'Connectors' -> 'Dialer1' -> 'Settings'

Dedicated Carrier = (none)
Direct Connect = not checked

Yes.. both the PG Monitor & PG Admin state that Dialer 1 is running

I did have:
Dedicated Carrier = (none)
set to my smtp server, I have changed it to none, stop and restared the Dialer 1
cleared all messages (deleted them)..
and tried to send a new message...

the message still got queued

I'm sure we are both overlooking a simple setting... but where?

Can you send your PageGate log files (*.log in the PageGate program folder), and your PageGate database file (pagegate.mdb) to forumsupport@notepage.com?

we will take a look and email you the solution.

I will post the result of what we find out back here for future visitors.

It turns out that the PageGate Scheduler module wasn't running. The scheduler needs to be enabled in PG Admin under 'Program' -> 'Settings'.

The scheduler has two jobs. It handles repeating and messages scheduled to be sent in the future. It also is responsible for directing (scheduling) which dialers will go active and handle which messages. If you are running only one dialer, this isn't a big deal, but when running multiple dialers, it is an important task. The point is that the PageGate Scheduler must be running for ANY messages to be delivered.
