Ok, so I've perused the forums here looking for an answer and can't find one. When I go into the command prompt and type:
telnet snpp.myairmail.com 444
I get a response of 220 blah blah blah. So it works; however, when I try and send myself a page, it keeps coming back with an error of:
The Carrier rejected the recipients ID/PIN number.
Permanent Failure.
Now, using PageNet Lite I can send a page to myself using a phone line and my pin number, I can even call my phone number and leave a page; however, it won't page me if I use NotePager Pro. I'm testing it out to see how good it works so my fire department can purchase it or not. If you can think of anything to help sort this out, please contact me, or post.

I am willing to bet that their Internet based gateways are using a different PIN number of number of digits in the PIN number, than their dialup terminal.
Try making the PIN number 10 digits long by prefixing it with zeros, or the area code of the device's phone number. Also try using the device's phone number instead of the PIN number (if they are different). Try both 7 digits and 10 digits.
It looks like everything is working correctly, the other end simply doesn't like the PIN number you are using. Try to get through to a differnt support person at the carrier. We have found that many times customers receive incorrect information from carrier's support personel. |

Ok, so now I'm using the prefix of 000 & then my PIN number. It says that the ID number is ok; however, now it says that the message is not accepted. What is the problem?

I think that proves that they are requiring a 10 digit PIN number. Have you tried using the pager's full phone number for a PIN number?
If this doesn't work, you will have to contact the carrier again and get from them the real PIN number you should be using for their Internet gateway. |

PageNet is different they use 1 8 if your pager number starts with 888 so if your pager number is 8881234567 then use 81234567 as your ID.

Your message says you are trying to send through snpp.myairmail.com which is for Airtouch/Verizon pagers. The dialup program that you use looks like it is for PageNet pagers. The WCTP log references Arch Communications... What company are your pagers from ? That could be the problem.

I am having this same issue. I have the host set up as wctp.arch.com/wctp, port 80. Every time I send a page , I get the message : wctp-Failure errorCode="403" errorText="The subscriber ID is invalid. Sorry
I have tried the 7 digit pager number as well as the 10 digit number.
Any ideas on what is wrong?

WCTP has to be enabled on a pager by pager basis by Arch, it's not automatic. Try calling their customer service department and have them verify that it is enabled for that pager.

I've talked to about 6 'technicians' from Arch, no one has ever heard of WCTP

The Arch tech's know it as "UV-A" and "UV-B" - if they configure the pager account to make sure those two toggles are activated, then WCTP should work. The ID should be the pager's 10 digit phone number_________________ Aaron D. Osgood
